Northern Virginia Economy Grew by 7.45%
GDP Grew from $257 Billion in 2021 to $276 Billion in 2022


The Commission’s Senior Regional Demographer has updated our demographic and economic fact sheet as of December 8, 2023.
The region’s GDP grew by 7.45% from 2021 to 2022. Northern Virginia’s economy is now 41.6% of State GDP and is larger than 24 states, the District of Columbia and if a country the 48th largest economy in the world.
